Garnier White Complete Fairness Cream and Face Wash - #7DayGarnierChallenge

You know how they ask you never to judge a book by its cover and stuff? I've recently learnt that brightening products are always marketed as whitening and fairness products in India. With the whole fairness obsession of the country and all, they probably sell like hot cakes too, but I've always been put off by the "whitening"and "fairness"claims of products and brands and that was why I stayed away from anything that had the words on them at all!
No, I don't think anybody gets prettier by getting fairer, but if a products adds glow and brightens up my skin, then it's most welcome to sit on my dresser and work its magic on me!

This is why I decided to try out the Garnier white complete fairness cream and face wash when I was offered to try them out for a review.

The Face Wash
It's a nice face wash with a strong fragrance. This, I quite like actually and don't mind in cleansers because they're in contact with skin for barely any time.
It works well as a cleanser, removes pretty much all makeup except for water proof mascaras (which isn't exactly its job, so ok).
My skin feels clean and bright after using this. But since its drying on my normal skin type, I need to follow up with moisturizer asap!

The Moisturizer
This cream is a light moisturizer. Not heavy at all, and I think this was the right time for me to try it out since the weather nowadays is warm and ever so slightly humid. So it's nice as a light moisturizer. This cream does visibly brighten my skin, which is a boon since my skin tends to look quite dull during climates like these. It lasts a few hours after which I need moisturizer again and the brightening effect wears off too. I've just used it for a little over a week and I can see the whole brightening thing, But I don't know if it will last when I stop using this. Anyway, I think it's good for the price you pay.
This cream is heavily scented like the cleanser and this is something I do have a problem with. Not that it has damaged my skin in anyway, but I fear that having something so heavily scented as a face cream, sinking into my skin is not such a good thing and might do some damage. That's just me!
