Back When We Were Grownups..

This happens to be the book that i've been reading.. Its about a 50 something woman Rebecca who dares to look back at what her life would have been if she'd live it as she was.. and what was expected of her..
and i dont know if she goes back to trying it.. i'm not there yet..
but all her memories and the winters got me all nostalgic! :P okayyyyy

I took a whiff of  CK Eternity.. dont use iteverrr like maybe on a lazy saturay evening..:P:) and let myself go back to all the lovely winter evenings and all the beautiful places i have lived at!

To add to it, I recently read an article on the things that "constituted" of our growing up years..

there were the shoulder pads... !!
there were  multicoloured fraandship bands that would send anyone in their sane minds in a cringing fit!
then there were boy bands and the spice girls..

so do you all really cringe when you hear *hit me baby one more time* going on and on in the good old bakery where your hung out for hours after school/ tuitions..
but just go there to pick up those yummy birthday cakes these days?? OMG! they taste just the same.. dont they?
do you seriously not remember singing i want it that way rewinding and playing it till your cassette squeaked? or as the article said "pausing and playing" while you wrote the lyrics down in the pre-Google era..
i do and it made me happy and nostalgic! .. i remember cycling to the basketball court one day and the swimming pool the other..
gossiping with my best girlfriends and telling stories till we froze and were called back by our respective mothers! :D having hot chocolate and buying decorations.. singing our songs and loving Nick Carter..

Tonight, my brother promptly started to strum his guitar as my dad crooned nothings gonna change my love to mom.. Zorro pushed his ears back and wagged his tail under his blanket.. i saw it! and for me..
this is yet another wintry night and i am comfortably snuggled into my blankie with my hot cup of cocoa and the book.. but i as was getting entertained by all these things.. i realized i knew it all..  i have had them before.. these nights with this song... my mug of cocoa .. and a clear December night..  i have had this night once every winter of my life.. and will look forward to it every coming winter! and in my mind i am excited.. i have butterflies in my stomach cause the celebrations are just beginning.. and i am waiting for Santa to arrive.. :D

I just wanted to leave you'll with a little dose of this nostalgia.. and somehow i feel this will do it.. :)
