A Birthday at Home!

So it was my dad's birthday yesterday. If you like the facebook page, you'd know and you would also know that yours truly baked this gorgeous cake!
Everybody clap and wish! I knoww I should have posted the pictures then.. But I was too tired by the end So doing it now.
Let's talk about how the end product happened (This IS NOT the recipe. This is more like 'what shouldn't happen').

The power cuts in this area were insane yesterday (ONE)! I took pictures for a DIY Easy care lol and thanks to that, my cake dint have enough time to cook, thanks to the 12 o clock power cut. Then I baked it for another 5 minutes or so and it was done. My second cake (I stacked 2) was troubled because of the power cut too. And it took me all my strength to not yell at anybody or beat someone up. (The Hulk wakes up all the time). So anyway, I was papa's baby girl quietly (mentally cursing) baking his birthday cake. My dad had the flu and so did my brother and my mum and me are (were) trying not to catch it. lol (I've had a cold 4-5 times this year already! No more, thank you). But all the time, I felt I was coming down with a fever. (TWO).
At around 5 o clock when my cake was done and the grocery guy from the colony failed to get me chocolate (THREE), I went out.The 'More' near my place had was shut (FOUR) (I could get everything here) and I finally got some fruit and (There's a lot to complain here, but I'll spare you) (FIVE). It was a pain finding a decent parking spot because the CSD had stocktaking going on and there were vehicles on the road! Like parked in the middle of the road! Baaahhh! (SIX)
So I finally get back home to find no light in the dining room or the kitchen! (SEVEN) Kill me now! Thankfully the blender was working but the fridge wasn't (This I knew later! (EIGHT)) I made my icing in the dark room with just the lights on the chimney on and thankfully our otherwise territorial cook was kind and accommodating! He even washed the fruit for me and gave me his knife because my very kind brother decided to load the dishwasher when I wasn't home (NINE) (thanks to the maid having a party of her own (TEN)). And boy! He din't leave a thing out! Everything (needed at that time, of course) was in! I did get stuff out and manually wash everything to be used but that's another story. Now, If you know me, Oh you don't? Tip for the future-  I don't do well with surprises! I hate surprises. My cousins decided (at the last minute) to surprise us (Which honestly made it a beautiful evening) But I wish I knew and was slightly more prepared! And with no lights and melting icing and 3 men, a boy, a baby, a big dog, 3 shrieking women, a visibly annoyed cook switching off lights, switching on lights in the other room, spilling water, pushing me, looking for a lit bathroom, a safe exit and MY patience, I really don't know how I finished my cake. I just wish the fridge was working.
Cut to the part when the brother and I ran out to get other things. When we got home, Everything was perfect. There were lights and fans and smiling people, a calm cook, a happy baby and a satisfied dog. It din't look like my house. Only, wait! The baby looked too happy! Everyone was smiling too much! AND Where the hell was my cake?! I found it in the fridge thanks to mamma. Oh how she makes everything okay! and then, there was a party.

The recipe will be up tomorrow! It is REALLY easy!
