Maybelline ColorSensational Lipgloss Cranberry Cocktail

Present- 10.02.2050
Kids, it was the year 2011 and one balmy evening, your grandmumma and I went shopping. Now, those were the days when red lipstick was frowned upon; if not an absolute taboo. And I had taken up the challenge (a la your uncle Zorro) and your grandmumma being all about supporting the family said : "Let's not fret, love! This is just the smaller health and glow store. There's a bigger one on the same street. And if we don't find anything there today, I'll take you to MAC on Sunday." (Like that's such a good idea!) But I rolled with it! "For now, let's get a cocktail and then looks for something!" (Because that's a great idea again!) But then I said- "Wow! That's a great idea, mum!"

Now, kids, cocktail here was the magic word that got the entire universe plotting together in our favour! And suddenly, the extremely bored and uninterested SA jumped up and said " Madam. Red gloss. Cranberry Cocktail!" And that was the first and only time I did (at a drugstore) what I did next! I got out a johnson's bud and got some of the gloss on it and swiped it on my mouth and that was it. There was that red lip colour that took me on a red lip colour journey and led me to the beautiful MAC Double Dare cremesheen glass and later, to my beautiful sexy and kind red lipstick soul-mate MAC Ruby Woo. Yes, it also took me on another path where I stray every now and then with my very hot MAC So Chaud! And it left me with a promise that there'll be more. A lot more beautiful, sophisticated, flirty and fun red lip colours in the future! Talking of red, did you see the prettiest Red blush ever?!
Umm.. So moving on..
The Colour- It a perfect blend of burnt orange, pink and obviously red. That's probably why the colour looks really different on different skin tones and extremely different in day light and night time.
It has a ton of multicoloured glitter in it which you notice only when you try too hard.
Texture & Pigmentation- I love the texture of these glosses. Non sticky. Moisturizing. Comfortable. Those 3 words say it all. The gloss is quite pigmented. Though I need 2 coats to get the colour full power and not let my pigmented lips peek through. The only other one I've tried from this range is the Hooked on Pink gloss and it isn't as pigmented as Cranberry Cocktil. It doesn't l;eave a stain behind either.
Longevity- The colour stays back as a mild stain when the moisture and balmy gloss wears off in an hour, hour and a half. But the stain is very easily removable (wiped off).
I think this is the colour you must try out if you're afraid of red still. Or wear a red lipstick you secretly wear at home sheered out with some gloss.
I like the doe tip applicator (Though not as much as the L'Oreal gloss ones). This is thin and long and it's easy to apply the gloss in the thin parts of the mouth.

Price- Rs 250
Moral of the story- The best budget red lipgloss. I'll keep buying this as long as they make it. I love it.
PS: Mum might not appreciate being called grandmumma just yet (maybe never). So don't tell her I referred to her as that.
