Okay, first you promise to believe me, because for some reason none of my friends believe that I'm getting married!
This is probably the hugest news here ever. So much has been going on in life, I've been really busy, yes. But most importantly, yours truly is getting married!
- Who is the mystery man? Let's call him Maj Guy.
A little more you ask? He's an army kid like yours truly and also an army officer himself. It is a cross cultural wedding. Yes, we believe in widening the gene pool. He's a Tam bram. Remember how I've been referred to as the Tambi baby all my life? Yes, I should have known it meant something.
One thing I'd like to mention here.. I had this ridiculous list I wanted all checked. (It had points like his name should start with V and I was very specific about the Corps I wanted him to be from (err I knew I would be marrying a fauji) and that at any cost he shouldn't be a Libran). Maybe just to buy some time. But he is all of that. Libra too! Lol
- When did he walk into my life you ask? Not too long ago actually.
- When are we getting married? Early next year.
- Do I have enough time to do all that I want to? I don't know! (Of course not!)
- Am I flipping out? Sometimes, yah! (Okay. That's a lie. Quite a bit actually) But I'm surprisingly calm too. (again, a lie).
Our story was-
Boy meets girl.
Girl thinks boy is wayy too straightforward and lacks a sense of humour
Boy thinks the girl is pretty mad.
Girl still thinks the boy is weird.
The boy realizes that pretty trumps mad and decides he wants to marry her.
The girl i.e me stands corrected on everything she thought of the boy; and was last seen playing with her hair and giggling into the phone. Everything she thought she wouldn't be caught dead doing basically!
Did he "propose" to me yet? No. I mean he did give me the I want to marry you talk and insists be only intended to marry me since he knew me first. But no official proposal on one knee yet. (It doesn't count minus the ring, sweetie ).
How do I know we are getting married? I'm not pulling a Rose from Two and a half men, I promise! The panditji (the priest) told me (my parents actually)! Yes, we are in India! Since we made our intentions clear to our eager parents, they couldn't wait! We haven't had an official engagement, and neither is there going to be one. But there was a very small roka kind of a thing involving only his parents, my parents, him and me. Not even our brothers were present! (Hints at the ring again).
As much as I would like to say that destiny arranged this for us in the funniest way possible, this is a love marriage.
Promise you'll believe me even though there's no picture of the boy yet. As you know already, he's way too private to be marrying a blogger like me. Butwhattodoo? Love!
Congratulations babe :)..wish you both lots of love n hapiness
