COLORBAR Pretty Please Lipstick- Review & Swatches

Some days ago, when my mum was going out shopping, I told her to pick up a Colorbar lipstick for me!
"But, you have so many, I thought you were reformed and weren't buying unnecessary things anymore!" She said.
"But I don't have anything Colorbar!! And I've heard great things about these! I want to try one out!!!" I said.
To which she said " Ugh! Ok, but how am I randomly supposed to pick up anything?"
"You know what I'll like! Just anything, or wait, let me look at swatches online!" I said.
Mum "Nooo! I'm getting late, I'll just get something."
Me "But you don't look!! Mammaaa! Please get something nice, okay? Pretty pleasee?"
Mum: "Baah ok, Bye now!"
Obviously, that wasn't the scenario. I was looking at these Colorbar lipsticks on Medplusbeauty. And This was the last thing, that day, I was looking at, so because I was bored and tired, I asked my mum to just randomly pick a colour for me (and a lot of that banter was true). From the fake square swatches, she chose a pretty pink colour for me. I should have known better, because, turns out, it isn't a pink lipstick at all! But then, I like to be surprised once in a while. Ok, no, I hate surprises. But that's not the point. I liked the colour anyway.
 Price- Rs 225
Colour : Pretty Please can be described as a nice, muted peachy orange-brown colour on me. On someone with lighter skin tone, it'll show up orange-er and brown-er. At this point, I'll also like to say that, the skin tone of my face is darker compared to the rest of my body. So you can see the difference in the swatches (arm and lips).
What I love about these lipsticks most, is the staying power. These last about 5 hours on me, easily! Yes, me! The constantly lip biting, eating, drinking and talking me! Nothing lasts long enough on my lips, Well, MAC Ruby Woo does, but that's another story!
The finish isn't exactly what I'd term matte, but these aren't glossy either. The best part is, these aren't drying at all! These sit comfortably on my lips the entire time. This lipstick sits in my bag now. For the color goes with everything, it lasts forever on my lips and the lipstick seems sturdy enough not to melt in my bag/ car. We'll actually see about that, But my MAC Fanfare sure scarred me for life!
The tube is chubby and cute with the bottom coloured so it matches the lipstick. Plus a transparent cap, helps too. For this price, these lipsticks are "da bomb!" I'm so proud of this Indian brand!
The only thing that bothers me is the smell of this lipstick. Sit down! Story time, When I was in 3rd standard, I was in a skit, you know the one from Panchatantra? Where 4 scholars decide to give life to a tiger's carcass and their illiterate friend advises them against it, but they laugh at him being illiterate and all and do it anyway, so the 5th (obviously smart guy) sits on a tree and the tiger kills all the so called scholars after coming back to life! That one? I played the the scholar who puts life in the Tiger and our Panchatantra became a comedy because of something that deserves another post! So anyway, I told you this story because, you should know Panchatantra stories! Also, because some ma'am forcefully applied an ugly red lipstick on my lips and everyone else's and the same lipstick was used as blush, that were 2 rounds on our cheeks! Now you know where this post came from? So that fugly lipstick smelled cheap and gave me an allergy. And this lipstick smells exactly like that! So I'm always scared, it'll give me an allergy, plus I'm always paranoid that if any lipstick, blush, cream etc smells too strongly, it's done so we cant smell the extremely toxic stuff in it! Don't worry, it hasn't done anything scary to me, yet.

  3. How do u do the soft focus thing that slightly blurs the lips edges in the pics??? Looks like pics straight out of a fashion mag!
Seriously, this colour looks fab on you. And I'm repeating myself when I say that u have a great style of writing. If u ever write a book, I'll be the first to buy it :)

  5. I come here for these stories only Ikya :)

The make-up is only secondary...but I don't buy this range anymore bcos of the weird pink stain that most Velvet matte lipsticks tend to have...what colour does this one fade away to?

    1. You know how happy a comment from you makes me?
On me, this doesn't leave a pink stain behind, probably because I reapply out of paranoia before I can feel it gone!

    1. I know, I got notified and then there was nothing here on the blog. I just got it out of spam! Strange things happen here!! Dollliiieee!! You're adorable! Thank you so very much, though I highly doubt you're telling the truth, but it makes me happy nevertheless! :*
I use picasa only for that. Soft focus it's called I think. I just have lots of stories. I think it comes from how dramatic I am and look for potential stories in every situation! :P
