MAC Ample Pink Plushglass- Review, Swatches

How I'd like to do one of those best lip product of 2012, or Best hair-care solution 2012, or you know, a collective one for 2011 and 2012 because I wasn't around in Dec '11. But the thing is, I barely bought anything, makeup wise this year. I gave away more than half of my stuff last year, because honestly, I got bored of it! *gasp! Shudder!* And I wan't really using a lot of my stuff anyway, plus with the whole house being upside down because of the renovation, I couldn't take care of everything. So, moral of the story -  I cant. So instead, Let's drink (apply) to a colourful 2013, with loads of new products and lots to try! What better way to clink our glasses or our oldest and most trusted lipgloss tubes

From the pictures above, you can tell the amount I used this gloss! But you don't know yet that this is my second tube of this gloss!! Yes, yes, the lover of bright lips Ikya, has gone through 2 tubes of a pale, almost colourless lipgloss and loves it so much! Colour wise, it's one of those easiest colours to wear, when in a hurry, The one that you don't need to work around much.
MAC Plushglasses are loved by me, for their tingling, minty sensation, and how they subtly plump my lips or maybe just fill in the lines. I really like these because they're high in shine and not as gooey as the general MAC Lipglasses, and yet, long staying. These are really moisturizing, I've worn this plushglass instead of a lipbalm on a lot of occasions which is how I finished it in the first place!
MAC Cosmetics has this to say about their Plushglass formula-
Sheer lip colour with a pearlized high-shine gloss finish. Comfortable to wear: lush, multi-dimensional. Gives a cool-warm, vanilla buzz to the lips. Moisturizes, soothes and visibly plumps the lips to make them look luxuriously healthy and well-conditioned. Contains vitamin E for added environmental protection.
MAC describes Ample Pink as full, soft, rose.
After reading the MAC description did I realize anything about the pearlized formula.
On me this is a very milky, nude pink. In the tube, there's a bit of mauve in it, and if you've been reading this blog at all, you know how mauve hates me. But thankfully, on my lips the mauvity (mauveness just felt wrong) doesn't show. If and when I have to wear a nude lip, this is my choice of gloss to top any lipstick The only reason why I don't wear it as it is is because it sits on top of my lips without the colour totally merging with my natural lip colour. See the picture below for proof. An this a pet peeve. So I wear it on my Maybelline Plaza Pink to eliminate the mauvity (lol) and wear it under MAC Lychee Luxe (to tone it down) for a sheer, coral pink lip.
Basically I bought this for the second time because I went to get the Pink lemonade lipglass and it was out of stock as usual and I dint want to return empty handed. Don't look at me like that!
Price: Was Rs 1050 when I bought it, now I think it retails for Rs 1400, which in my opinion is crazy, for such tiny tubes (of niceness, but still!!) Plus this isn't a colour that I'll miss so I won't repurchase this. But I did once, so, that's saying something!

  6. That's too much for a simple gloss. That's why I stopped buying MAC glosses - find them to overpriced for what they offer. Looks great on you, though :)
