Online Shopping in India - How easy does it get?

Source
MAY is here! The most gorgeous month of the year! Ok it's a little warm, but yay sunshine! It's my birthday month ok. Just be nice.
And I lied a little. It's more than warm. It's scalding hot outside and it's sucking the energy out of me! All I want to do is sit in a tiny a/c room with entertainment and no other human being to make the room warm!

But it's my birthday month and how can I not shop? So now, the orthodox me (on my dad's suggestion and with his credit card) decided to shop online. I tried a couple of sites like Jabong and Myntra and Sleek (Hey! I'm a beauty blogger). And before that I raided Marks and Spencers and bought random things this month. I swear I've been saying I wasted it all on cheap, unnecessary things!
You know what, it's all good. I mean you get it easily. If you don't like it, you can return it! I actually did return a skirt just today and hopefully will get the replacement soon! But it's not really easy when it comes to skincare/ beauty or even fragrances! No? Because these items can't be returned once bought. So nowwhat?

Now, there's this website Jossbox where you can create your profile. The're a Finder, A shop and the Insider.
In the 'finder' they ask you questions on different topics like -
Skin- Type, Colour, Concerns. This I really found great, the way it's all organised. They had these different shade swatches (like the ones on foundation bottles, the circular ones) and I picked a medium colour randomly after wondering for 15 minutes which I was. I would rather they asked a question like which colour foundation you used in any brand. Because everyone would be sure of that. It would have been more accurate and easier that way.
Then similar questions on Hair, Eyes and body were asked (Where I gave my body the worst marks! I'm now reminded of a certain Dove ad that almost went viral recently!)

Now, based on your answers, your profile is created. You can always go back and change your answers. Thank God! Now they offer you items from their store full of luxury goods, personalized to your skin type (based on the answers you gave). Now, listing crows feet as a concern was going slightly overboard. I'm not 24 yet, but I have really dry skin around my eyes and I can always edit my profile!

This is my actual complete profile.

Next is 'Shop' which features a lot of luxury brands (Babor, Dermalogica, Pangea Organics, Phytomer, Thalgo) that aren't easily available in India, so I think this is great that way too.

Now, the only thing left to do is to actually make a purchase from Jossbox. I've created a profile and saw their suggestions and now (because I'm playing it safe, considering these are luxury items and not exactly cheap), I'll read reviews before making a purchase!

I'm eyeing an eye cream they suggested. Actually I'll eye any eye cream you suggest too. I want something light. That takes care of dryness and helps with my panda circles. But this sounds exactly like what I want!

If and when I do shop from Jossbox, I'll update this space.

Jossbox claims that it was created to remove the guesswork from online shopping. I think this holds true (other than the skin colour bit of course). The neat and organised layout makes is really easy to find and get exactly what you want! Oh the 'Insider' bit might keep you there a bit long reading all the articles!
Disclaimer: I have not been compensated monetarily, or in any other way by any of the websites mentioned in this post.  I was simply asked to create a profile on Jossbox and write about my experience, and that I did. All views and opinions, positive and negative are my own.

  1. Looks like a fun website, I'm off to sign up. It's getting a little bland with the same old, same old shopping sites. Which reminds me, I need a ban! Happy early birthday, btw!

  2. Yeah online shopping has actually made it perfect to shop anything and has lowered the chances of going out for shopping and wasting the important time in reaching to a mall and standing after a long queue.
