MAC FIX + ~MAGIC POTION OR NOT?

Just the other day me and mum drove almost out of town to pick my brother up. Now this was fine. I love to drive and me and mom we having a nice time. We got my brother. The AC was blasting on my face now. Thing is, my skin is very confused lately. It is very blemish prone. Very sensitive  and prone to blackheads and I'm making major skin faux pas by not moisturizing well. So this blasting AC dried the cr*p out of my face and I was quite uneasy.. My mum happened to notice this and made me pull over, take out *magic potion Fix+* out of her bag and sprayed it on my face! :O
Other than my face freezing because the ac was still on, I must admit the stretchy uneasy feeling was out! I felt much much better with an icicle for a nose, yes. :)

I figured nothing great right? some moisture work and used my rose water spray instead of Fix + when I was out today. Did it work the same? Yes, in terms of making an icicle out of my nose! :P

Price- Rs 900 for 100 ml.

This is what it claims on bottle :P

The MAC website says - An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on.

Skin drinks it up!

Well, Skin does drink it up. It lightly moisturizes skin and does leave it glowing.
I bought one bottle after much contemplating but I just forgot about how my mum always had this and loved it!
I have used it to set my makeup. Its not exactly a 'fixer' in the sense your makeup wont budge kinds. No. What this does is naturalize your makeup. You know the powder-y look after you are done with wearing your powder foundation or use a powder to set your foundation? Fix+ eliminates that completely and sets it in a way that it looks like your skin but better. :)

It works best for someone with dry skin like my mum and few months ago, me. It works well for oily skin when used to moisturize lightly! Fix+ is moisturizing. After rose water dries on your face or is gulped by your skin, your skin is left dry. No? I know mine is. Fix+ actually moisturizes it which is good since you don't even have to touch your face when you're on the go! Just keep it in your bag and you are good to go!
Does it leak in the bag? No. The cap can be locked and unlocked, like so-

Locked

Unlocked

It smells beautifully! I love the smell of Fix+ the normal one more than that of the lavender variant that was launched with the Champale collection.

This is one of the multipurpose products from MAC (not listed like that on the website though) You can spray it on before makeup to lightly moisturize.
I spray it on my Sigma F80 before I blend out my foundation. Works VERY well!(Mine is a cream foundation & does take a while to blend, This makes it easy).
You can use it with pigments, like spray it on your brush before packing on pigments/ loose shadows. This is known to reduce fall out.

The bottle will last you quite a while and comes with a good 2 years of using period.

I LOVE the bottle! It is one of the best spay bottles ever! I don't think I'd want to Back to MAC it! It sprays the product really well. But you will have a trial & error period to know how much would you need to spray on . I did actually go with the 'I need a bib to soak the oil dripping off my face' look once when I sprayed it over-enthusiastically!

The bottle in the picture is my first bottle of Fix+ (my mum is on her sixth!:P She loves it!)
But I feel it works better for her than me, anyway.

Would I repurchase? I wont have to cause my mum will do always. I wouldn't want to anyway because I would like to try the water + glycerin home made version.

Oh and Ramadan starts tomorrow! Ramadan Mubarak everyone! :) Have a blessed month! We have Sheer Khurma & Sevian Kheer to look forward to! AAnnddd being vegetarian, I shall talk no more!:P

How does it fare? MAC FANFARE LIPSTICK- Review, Swatches & Photographs

You know the kind of love stories that are passionate but short-lived?
My affair with Fanfare is sort of like that! But I wont let it be just yet!.. muha ha ha ha ha ha! *evil*
If you followed me on Twitter, you would know how I ranted about my Fanfare melting! & I barely ever got to use it before it melted! :'(  But I have seen most Fanfares melt! My cousins, the one in the store & a friends mums! :P
Like everything stays! Fanfare melts! :( But thanks to a lot of 'how to save it' videos and articles, I salvaged it somehow, It is still delicate and have lost a LOT of product that way. I wont do it again. No, no. :(

    Price- Rs 990

Colour &Texture wise, Fanfare is mid toned pink, Described as Mid-toned yellow pink on the MAC website. It has a little peach somewhere. And is a beautiful, beautiful colour that adds a pretty wash of pink to my face.

In my opinion, it would work best with skin tones upto NC 43/44.
It is a fairly opaque lipstick like most creemsheens are. I love the creemsheen formula next to the amplified finishes from MAC.
It is a very moisturizing lipstick and had a natural shine to it. I don't ever wear a gloss on top of it.

Lasting time- It lasts for some 3 hours on my lips after which, It leaves a tint behind. It doesn't dry my lips out at all still. Nothing, Read NOTHING lasts on me beyond 3 hours on my lips.

All in all, It is a beautiful lipstick that I am repurchasing as soon as I have money to spare since it is a very happy sunny pink lipstick that doesn't make one look like someone vying barbie's crown!

Oh and I wore Fanfare HERE previously. Fanfare found a fan in me and fares brilliantly! :P Sorry for the PJ had the strongest urge to add it!:P

Which lipstick are you wearing today? Whats been your favourite lately? Let me know, OK?

MAC MELBA BLUSH- Review, Swatches & Photographs

You know whenever I've been asked about my favorite blush, I could only think of MAC Melba. Not because it is the most natural blush on my face, no. I am someone with a lot of colour to my cheeks as it is and I blush for no rhyme or reason but I'm a sucker for blush and that is my absolute favourite makeup to wear. :D
You know swirling the brush in a small pan full of colour.. and getting rosy cheeks and a sudden boost of health and happiness.. sigh..

Anyway, Melba, yeah favourite because it adds warmth to my face. It makes me look un-embarrassed.

    Price Rs 1050

Colour & Texture wise, Melba is a Matte dirty peach blush in my opinion, a muted brown peach minus a lot of yellow. You know like in the colour peach, replace the yellowness with brown-ness. :| Capise` ?

The MAC website describes it as a soft coral-peach blush. I haven't really found the coral hint in this, Its definitely a brown peach according to me. More peach. :)
This one is a very pigmented blush, very smooth & in my honest opinion suits a lot of skin tones. Very forgiving.

As complicated as it sounds, Melba is is a beautiful colour fairly easy for a lot of people to pull off!

Stays on for around 4 hours on me. Standard MAC powder blush time. :)

For me it adds a peach warmth to my face. Doesn't look muddy and flat! Its my absolute work safe blush (mainly because I don't have many).

    Blended

Here is how it looks on a NC 42 me. (I'm not very well these days and that + my dying camera is translating into the ugliness of my skin in the photo below. Please excuse it!)

Oh and I totally forgot to add that this is even more special since I got it as a present from some of my best friends! Sammy! Thank you!!! :* The boys actually went and got me this. How cute is that?

    2) Tell us 7 random things about yourself.
    3) Nominate 15 bloggers .

    5) Answer the questions given below (Butterfly & Versatile).

    So here goes-

    Thank you guys, once again!:*

7 random things (I have done this earlier, so newer 7 things) :)
    1. I get into a fix in such situations, I really cant think of anything immediately.
    2. I am a true blue army kid, lived all over the country, mostly very small places like "Harchurah" & "Amarbari".
    3. I was born in Udhampur, Its a beautiful town in J&K
    4. I skipped class I & IV (technically, studied close to a month in both before I was promoted to the next grade) and was the youngest person in my class after that always. :)
    5. When I was in class II, I dint have math notebooks, you know the checkered ones? Cause we lived in Harchurah, which is a tea estate in Phulbari and had Tezpur as the closest "city" dint have those back then. So when my dad was home, he made me those notebooks using his T scale and set square in plain notebooks with a black pen. I decided then I wanted to be an architect, for the tools. Yes. :)
    6. I sucked at playing basketball. Couldn't shoot hoops if I stood under it. But was forced by my teaches into it cause I was one of the tall ones in class. Getting better now. :)
    7. I crack my knuckles under tension a LOT.

    Questions

Name your favorite color – Blue. Green is a close second.
Name your favorite song – Oh a million. But at the tip of my head, Kryptonite- 3 doors down, and I'd love you to want me- Lobo. It was in an old Indica commercial too. :P
Name your favorite dessert – cheesecake? Lemon. Blueberry is too sweet. :)
What is pissing you off? – There is no network in my dads phone and I called him atleast 47 times now. We say hello and it gets cut! :|
When you’re upset, you? – I am hauntingly silent or I try to laugh and crack jokes, more than whats required.
Your favorite pet – Me. The animal chooses you. Moreover, I feel its derogatory to call anyone a "pet". Not polite.
Black or White? – Err.. both.
Your biggest fear? – That what I feel I don't believe in is for real. Read "ghosts". My biggest fear, I'd rather not say.
My best feature is – My ability to believe truly and completely, But my brother said its not fun. He says its my hair. Actually, a lot of people have said that. :P
Everyday attitude – Just let me be! Bah! :P
What is perfection – Happiness to each is perfection. Get it?
Guilty pleasure – Reading books by Jackie Collins. :P

I'd like to pass on One Lovely Blogger Award to- ( I am going to tag people at random)

The Versatile Blogger award goes to-

MAC Blush in Frankly Scarlet- Swatches, Pictures & Review

    Greetings, my ladies
Frankly Scarlet transports me to the old English zone.. To the 'London bridge is falling down' poem. :D
I feel its a beautiful 'pick me up' blush, in more ways than one. You know when I bought this, (I posted it here ) and mentioned how my mommy bought me this to lift my spirits! I was in a pathetic mood!

    Price Rs 1050

MAC describes it as a vivid rose-red. I agree. Frankly Scarlet is a matte blush. Very scary in the pan.. But turns into a beautiful blush that lights up once face. I think I have a thing for red cheeks! I remember I was overjoyed when I got this. I have a cream red blush from MaxFactor (read about it here) which doesn't stand a chance in front of this! But I feel that looks beautiful on darker skin.

My finger looks like a sausage! Gahhh!

    swiped thrice

    blended

Adds a beautiful pop of colour to my face on days when I'm particularly pale. I have very flushed cheeks normally, so this doesn't look over the top on me, but I still I ensure I put it on with a very light hand.

This lasts for around 4 hours on my face, which I think is fab, cause no blush lasts on me! Ever!!

I feel this blush suits a wide range of skintones. For reference, I'm a NC 40-42 (I sway:P) and this is how it looks on me- ONLY Frankly Scarlet. No other makeup.

Used with a very light hand. I think I'm going to put another picture.

I was asked to review this blush for as long as I remember. This is for you, Ankita! I am sorry for doing it so late. I knew I had to be back with this since you practically dragged me out of hibernation. :) And Zeeba, for you too!:P

Oh and I'm doing this after so long.. I don't know if I missed anything.. remind me if I did! :P Thanks! I love you all.. :)
